GENERAL INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
Please uninstall the existing
version of Privatefirewall (via
Add/Remove programs or Start -> All Programs ->
Privatefirewall 7.0 -> Uninstall...) and reboot system before
installing an update. Process Monitor and
Firewall settings can be preserved by exporting
(File ->
Export Settings) before uninstalling, and
importing (File -> Import Settings)
after installing updates. We also advise temporarily
disabling any antivirus or other active anti-malware
or HIPS software until the Privatefirewall installation
process has completed.

reduced for specific apps on the fly (via Process
Detection Alerts) or via Privatefirewall GUI (Processes

(only events with red/blue icons are logged, i.e. which
are not related to any existing rules), Med (all except
restricted IPs, port scans, invalid packet flags,
dropped due to SPI), High (all firewall events are

- Fixed defect in which
default rules were not properly implemented in 23.3
build.
INSTALLATION NOTE:
For customers updating from 23.3, once installed, please Reset Privatefirewall rules to
Default ("Reset to Defaults" - round white arrow in blue
box on top of PF menu). Users who imported custom
settings and rules from pre-23.3
builds are not affected by the 23.3 defect. In general,
it is also advised that you uninstall any previous
Privatefirewall build and reboot system before
installing an update.
